Author/Anime Color Palette Series: Kiana x Sailor Moon

Welcome to my author/anime color palette series! Where my obsession with hex codes and middle grade/graphic novels come together. I'll break down an author's photo color palette and which animated character they remind me of.

Debut author, @kiana_krystle, is showcasing her cottagecore paranormal #YA Dance of the Starlit Sea in which "disgraced ballet dancer Lila Rose Li is sent away by her parents to Luna Island, where every seven years a girl is sacrificed as a bride to the Devil." Click the #book description to add to your #Goodreads list! Peachtree Teen bought rights with publication slated for spring 2023. I've already marked this one as TBR (fingers crossed for an ARC)!

It's no coincidence that the book parallels this princess-resembling author. Kiana pulls off elaborate pink dresses with ease and seems ready at a moment's notice for any lavish tea party... which I'd happily attend to talk about all things cupcakes and #paranormal.

What's Kiana's author color palette like?

Hex codes include: bitten berry, serenity, ghost-shell, and rosewater.

It was a lot of fun reconnecting with my feminine side for this color palette. Seaside vibes worked well with fairytale pinks, golden hues, and Kiana's bold red lips. This shot reminded me a lot of Sailor Moon. Particularly when Usagi Tsukino is mid-transformation as the Pretty Guardian or when she comes to terms with her awakening as the lost Princess Serenity.
