Author/Anime Color Palette Series: Esme x Yuki Sohma

Welcome to my author/anime color palette series! Where my obsession with hex codes and middle grade/graphic novels come together. I'll break down an author's photo color palette and which animated character they remind me of.

Round 9 AMM mentor @EsmeSymesSmith has kept busy! They will select one talented middle grade writer to mentor once mentee submissions close January 2022. But if you're more of an adventurous reader vs mentee, you can pick up book #1 in Esme's debut middle grade series next autumn. Sir Callie and the Champions of Helston is scheduled to hit the shelves November 22 following the journey of 12-year-old non-binary Callie and the "opportunity to become an official knight in training." Powerful people in Helston "believe knighthood is for boys and magic is for girls, and Callie and the new friends they make will have to fight both the dangers beyond the kingdom and the bigotry from within."

Click the #book description to add to your #Goodreads list! Liesa Abrams with Labyrinth Road, Penguin Random House acquired world English rights for the book.

What's Esme's author color palette like?

Hex codes include: bachelor's button, aquatic, biscuit, and freesia.

Fruits Baskets' Yuki Sohma was a great anime pairing for Esme. A real deuteragonist in the series and unabashedly able to showcase his propensity to break trends and overcome isolation. And Esme and Sir Callie break barriers. Sword or magic—the choice is yours.
